The
North American Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing-Wall Stud Design,
AISI S211-07, provides a design expression for web crippling at the end
reaction of the single stud-to-track connection. The subject of this report
is an experimental investigation that was carried out at the University
of Waterloo to establish a similar design expression for multiple jamb
stud members.
It is anticipated that the AISI Committee on Framing Standards will consider
the results of this study in the development of future standards and the
Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute in the development of design aids.
The American Iron and Steel Institute and the Steel Framing Alliance with
to express their appreciation to the researchers and project sponsors
for this report.
